ACADEMIA RFID PRESENTS FULL DAY 'RFID IN HEALTHCARE' SEMINAR
Academia RFID, North America's academic authority in RFID technology, presents vendor-neutral seminar to explain the benefits of RFID technology in the healthcare sector.
April 8, 2008 - Montreal, Canada
Over the past six months
and throughout the development of their
RFID Healthcare Applications Lab in Montreal,
the academic board at Academia RFID has
chosen to strategically focus on the healthcare
sector by identifying important market trends
in healthcare applications and approaching
a network of industry experts to gather
numerous RFID case studies to create a full
day, vendor-neutral seminar on the benefits
of RFID technology in hospitals and long
term care centers.
Being presented as a pre-conference
seminar at RFID Journal LIVE! 2008 by Ygal
Bendavid, a research associate from the
ePoly Center at Montreal's Ecole Polytechnique
and Harold Boeck, a Marketing Professor
at the Univeristy of Sherbrooke, the RFID
in Healthcare seminar offers an introduction
to RFID technology, presents numerous RFID
healthcare applications with live RFID demos,
and helps participants build their business
case for adoption.
"It's not a question of
'if' or 'when' the adoption of RFID technologies
will take place in hospitals; many are already
adopting. It's about selecting the proper
application," said Ygal Bendavid, an academic
director at Academia RFID. "What's more
important is that this isn't an industry
that is being secretive of its technological
advances; if an application helps to better
patient care, save time in operational processes
and ultimately save money for hospitals:
everyone benefits from the knowledge and
best practices of these RFID deployments."
"We partnered with Academia
RFID to produce an RFID in Healthcare seminar
at RFID Journal LIVE! 2008 because we strongly
believe that educating healthcare providers
is critical," said Mark Roberti, Founder
and CEO of RFID Journal. "The technology
can not only help to cut costs and improve
operational efficiencies in hospitals and
clinics, but even more important, it can
also help improve patient outcomes and potentially
save lives."
The RFID in Healthcare
Pre-Conference Seminar at RFID Journal LIVE!
will be presented at the Venetian Hotel
in Las Vegas, NV on April 16th 2008.
