JOURNAL LIVE! CANADA MOVED TO 2009
RFID Journal and EPCglobal Canada announced today that the next RFID Journal LIVE! Canada will be held in 2009
October 29th,
2008 - RFID Journal, the world's leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID), and EPCglobal Canada, a not-for-profit, vendor-neutral, user-driven organization supporting the adoption of Electronic Product Code (EPC) technology in Canada, announced today that the next RFID Journal LIVE! Canada event has been moved to 2009.
In order to meet the ongoing
demand for RFID education and certification
requirements in Canada, RFID Journal will
offer three RFID Journal University seminars
at the Toronto Congress Center in Toronto
on December 1, 2008. One of the seminars,
entitled RFID to Cut Costs, will provide
attendees with an understanding of the basics
of RFID and valuable information on how
to use RFID to cut costs with proven applications.
A second session, RFID
in Healthcare, will focus on RFID applications
in the health care sector. The third, RFID
in Retail, will cover applications that
retailers can use today. These two seminars
will be produced in conjunction with Academia
RFID and attendees will receive an Academia
RFID certification.
"RFID technology is clearly
gaining momentum in Canada, but we believe
the need for an broad educational conference
focused on RFID and EPC technologies and
a robust exhibition will be greater in the
coming year," said Mark Roberti, founder
and editor of RFID Journal. "For this year,
it makes more sense to provide targeted
education."
RFID Journal LIVE! Canada
2007 was the largest RFID event in Canada,
attracting top name speakers and attendees
from a wide variety of industries. A key
component of the event next year will be
helping Canadian companies comply with EPC
tagging requirements and achieve internal
and supply chain benefits from using EPC.
"We're fully committed
to educating Canadian companies about the
benefits of RFID technologies and EPC standards,"
says N. Arthur Smith, President of GS1 Canada.
"We are looking forward to an exciting event
next year."
